Cardinal's Nest Cabin is a two bedroom, two bath, two story log home with two additional single beds in the loft and a pull out couch that will sleep two people sitting on two beautiful acres of pine, hardwood and fruit trees. It is located in the heart of 450,000 acres known as the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area in the Southeastern comer of Oklahoma. It takes anywhere from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours to arrive there from the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. We are 45 minutes Northwest of Broken Bow Lake.

On arrival the beauty and serenity of the place begins to give you an immediate sense of relief and peace from the hectic/fast paced life of the city. The nearest homes are approximately 1/2 mile in either direction so your privacy is guaranteed. The fresh country air always is about 10 degrees cooler than any of the major cities since the altitude is higher. Even in the early summer heat one can turn off the air conditioner and turn on the attic and ceiling fans after dark and still need a blanket at night. Morning coffee off of the balcony or on the back porch swing can be one of the highlights of the day as the numerous song birds sing you fully awake.

For those who enjoy 4 wheeling this is Heaven. For $25.00 per person one can obtain a land use permit for the Three Rivers Area that is good for a whole year and enjoy the hundreds of miles of back roads and logging roads in the area. The mountains here are full of wildlife so take your camera with you. We have deer, coyotes, mountain lions, wild hogs, wild turkeys, mustangs, bobcats, cougars, black bear, and many beautiful birds some of which are rare such as the painted bunting and certain species of the woodpecker.

In our area we also boast of one of the last two free flowing rivers in the United States, the Glover River. Guided fishing trips, hog hunts and ATV tours are available by some of our very qualified locals and can be booked with a simple phone call. Weather you come for adventure, or peace and solitude you are guaranteed an experience that is healing to the mind, body and spirit. Warning: It may take you up to a week to gain your momentum back once you return home to the city because of the level of deep relaxation that occurs here.
